Trevor Hailey

Hey, I'm Trevor 👋

I'm a senior software engineer in Joplin, Missouri. I build full-stack products end to end — TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node up top; AWS, Terraform, serverless, and Kubernetes underneath. At Midwestern Interactive I embed with client teams, and for the past couple of years that has meant Plated Foodservice: I built its terminal application from scratch — an Electron app on a tablet in care-facility kitchens that drives custom heating hardware and tracks inventory — plus the Express API, the Next.js admin portal, and the SQS-and-Lambda messaging layer that keeps them all talking. In a kitchen where a dropped message means a resident doesn't get fed, "reliable" is not a nice-to-have.

Before any of that, I started a company at 18 and spent four years building native iOS and Android ordering apps for local restaurants — right up until the venture-funded delivery platforms ate the market. So I went back to school and finished a degree in mathematics. These days the math itch gets scratched by data engineering: I'm building a lakehouse around NYC's Citi Bike feeds to predict when stations run out of bikes or docks, and writing about each phase as I build it.

I'm open to senior full-stack roles at remote-first companies building their own product — say hi on LinkedIn.
